Many of us are over extended and stressed-out more than our inner life can sustain. A person who practices “being” before “doing” operates from a place of emotional and spiritual fullness. What does it mean to “be” before you do? And how can we take some steps towards this? Emotional fullness is manifested by a high-level of awareness of your feelings, weaknesses, strengths, limits, and how the past impacts the present.
Suffering and failure have always been God’s means to transform us from willful to willing, trusting Him to take care of us. In what ways do you try to avoid the pain and suffering of the cross that Jesus might be setting before you? This week try the practice of slowing and relaxing in Jesus.
Emotional health refers to how well people are able to accept and manage their emotions and cope with challenges throughout life. What is your plan to grow in union with Jesus? To grow in the fruit of the Spirit? To grow in love of God and others?
