Biblical Reasons for Pursuing Holiness

1 Peter 1:13-19. We need to make sure that our mental image of holiness is accurate. This will help us to pursue holiness as Hebrews 12: 14 encourages us to do. Peter was inspired by the Holy Spirit to give us some Biblical reasons for pursuing holiness. Being holy is the right answer to how we should live our lives. Let's choose to live a life of holiness.

Gaining Joy from Being Holy

John 16:16-24. We may experience a life filled with joy in spite of difficulties and disappointments. We can as we become holy. Jesus declared that to be the case in John 15:10-11 . There is joy that we may expect, if we are holy people. God intends for His people to have a complete joy. That will be ours as we live holy lives.

The Holy Tool for Making Holy People

2 Timothy 3:15-17. God's will for our lives is that we be holy. God has provided the tool by which we might become holy people. That tool is "the holy Scriptures" or the Bible. The Bible is holy and will help us to be holy, too. The holy Scriptures come from a holy God who desires all of us to be holy. The holy Scriptures will enable us to be holy, if we will know them and allow them to guide us into a holy life.
