Paul's deep concern and love for the Thessalonians leads to thanksgiving and comfort at the encouraging report of their faith.

In the conclusion to his epistle, Paul gives a compendium of exhortations for how the church should live together according to the Gospel.

Paul exhorts Christians to not be surprised at the Day of the Lord, but to eagerly wait and encourage one another with the hope of our salvation.

In the face of grief and death, Paul encourages the church with the hope that comes from a right understanding of Christ's glorious return.
