God Molds Us

May 11

I like to make special things for my family. Sometimes I prepare their favorite foods. Other times I make small gifts for them. It is fun to decide what kinds of things I can make for my family.

This makes me think about how Paul describes God in Romans, chapter 9. He talks about God being like a potter, a person who works with clay. And Paul says that we are like clay. Romans 9:21 tells us more about this comparison. “The one who makes the jar can make anything he wants. He uses the same clay to make different things. He might make one thing for special purposes and another for daily use.”

Paul is saying that we should not question God. He made us. He understands everything about us. We should not tell Him that we want to be something different. God has a plan for all of us. We should let God mold us and make us into what He wants us to be. Then we will bring glory and honor to Him.

I am happy when I can make something special for my family. In the same way, I want God to be pleased with my life. I want Him to mold me and make me to be just like Jesus!
