The Hidden Treasure and a Priceless Pearl

This morning we are beginning a new series, The Parables of Jesus: Windows into Reality, over the course of which we will explore ten of Jesus’ most famous parables. Today, we begin in Matthew 13:44-46 with the parable of the hidden treasure and, its pair, the pearl of great price. We start here because these parables, in a way, encompass all the others. Here Jesus illustrates the unrivaled worth of God’s Kingdom and invites us to consider: What is my greatest treasure? And, more importantly, am I living for the greatest treasure?

The Parable of the Talents
