Today, we reach the Parable of the Soils, found in Mark 4:1-20. This parable reveals why people respond to Jesus so diﬀerently. Our response to him is dependent on the condition of the soil of our heart—and only one soil produces a harvest that will last.

The Hidden Treasure and a Priceless Pearl

Today, we begin in Matthew 13:44-46 with the parable of the hidden treasure and, its pair, the pearl of great price. We start here because these parables, in a way, encompass all the others. Here Jesus illustrates the unrivaled worth of God’s Kingdom and invites us to consider: What is my greatest treasure? And, more importantly, am I living for the greatest treasure?

The Parable of the Talents

This parable challenges the very foundations of how we see reality and what we do with our lives.

Living in a broken world, as a broken person, surrounded by broken people will provide ample opportunity to forgive and be forgiven. But, why should we forgive?
