We are reading the Book of Song of Songs or Song of Solomon! He was a wise dude because he asked God for wisdom, and God granted it! Solomon was wise, and he did a lot with his wisdom. He even wrote a special Love Song for the love of his life.
Eventually, Solomon's heart was led astray to other gods.
