Building Towers for Kids
May 21, 2021 • Pastor Polly Inestroza
Do you like building towers? Or dressing your Barbies or dolls for something special? Have you ever built an awesome Lego scene? Just when all is perfect and fun, maybe you have had to clean them all up. That can be frustrating. King Solomon in Ecclesiastes talks about how there is a time for everything. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to play and a time to clean up!

Palms Up Palms Down is the spiritual practice of letting go of distractions, and posturing yourself to receive from God. Sometimes, we cannot hear God's message to us because there are many things floating around in our minds. What is God's message for you today?

Proverbs 2:1-11 What if I told you there was a hidden treasure, a precious jewel, hidden in your room or your house? Would you look for it? How would you look for it? What does Proverbs say are hidden treasures? As you read this text, what words jump out at you? What words confused you?
1000 wives? The Wise Contractor with too many women!
April 30, 2021 • Pastor Polly Inestroza
We are reading the Book of Song of Songs or Song of Solomon! He was a wise dude because he asked God for wisdom, and God granted it! Solomon was wise, and he did a lot with his wisdom. He even wrote a special Love Song for the love of his life. Eventually, Solomon's heart was led astray to other gods.
Poets: Week 3

Lamentations 3:18-26 I cry out, “My splendor is gone! Everything I had hoped for from the Lord is lost!” The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.
Poets: Week 2

Psalm 40 I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols. O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them. You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings. Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand[a]— you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings. Then I said, “Look, I have come. As is written about me in the Scriptures: I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.” I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out, as you, O Lord, well know. I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart; I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power. I have told everyone in the great assembly of your unfailing love and faithfulness. Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. For troubles surround me— too many to count! My sins pile up so high I can’t see my way out. They outnumber the hairs on my head. I have lost all courage. Please, Lord, rescue me! Come quickly, Lord, and help me. May those who try to destroy me be humiliated and put to shame. May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace. Let them be horrified by their shame, for they said, “Aha! We’ve got him now!” But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “The Lord is great!” As for me, since I am poor and needy, let the Lord keep me in his thoughts. You are my helper and my savior. O my God, do not delay.

God wants us to share our feelings with him! He wants to comfort us, listen to us, and help us! Will you practice talking to God about your feelings? What was the best part of your day? What was the worst part of your day? Sit quietly for 30 seconds and think about that one moment. What made it really high or really low? Now, share with God about what happened and what you were feeling! "God, this happened today, and it made me feel......"
Spiritual Practice (4years-3rd grade)
Pastor Polly Inestroza
What was the best part of your day? We will call that your high? Or what was the low part of your day? Talk to God about how you were feeling in your high or low? Say, "God, I was feeling _________________." Tell God about what happened. You can do this practice laying in your bed at night. Or sitting around your table or even in the car on the way to school. You can share in your mind or out loud.
Poets: Week 1 - Rollercoaster of feelings
April 11, 2021 • Pastor Polly Inestroza
Can you share your feelings with God? At bed time, or when you talk about your day at dinner, tell God what you are feeling, and why! Practice saying, "God, I'm sad because my friend teased me." Or "God, I'm angry because my brother broke his promise to me."
Message for Parents! Filter-free with your God.
