The salvation that God offers is greater than anything we could even think to ask. When the lame man asked Peter and John for money, in the Name of Jesus, they gave him the ability to walk for the first time in his life. We truly have something better to offer. Everything the world offers is temporary, cheap, and useless. However, what the Kingdom of God offers is eternally valuable.

Acts gives us plenty of examples of men who live for Jesus. One that stands out is a man named Stephen. Not only did he live for Jesus, but he became the first believer to die for his faith as well. All the way through his last breath, God’s Word tells us that Stephen lived for Jesus regardless of what it cost him. You and I may never have to experience persecution like that, but we are called to the same dedication.

As the church continued to grow, so did some grumblings. However, the Apostles were given the wisdom to come up with a solution...serving! As they focused on prayer and preaching God’s Word, others began to serve the Body of Christ. As Believers, we are ALL called to serve in some way. If Jesus came to serve and give his life, then his life leads us to serve Him.

Acts 5 reveals that believers should expect trials, persecution, and moments when we have to stand up for our faith. However, we can also expect to experience the work of God throughout our life before the greatest experience of all, eternity with Him.
