"True Rest"
September 8, 2024 • Daniel Kitchel • Genesis 1:31, Genesis 2:1–3, Exodus 20:8–11
From the beginning, God has given us a pattern of how to do life. Man was intended to work six days and rest for one day. What does this mean for us?
-We are to work hard at all we do. Christians should be marked by the excellence of our work. Laziness has no place in our lives.
-We are to work from our rest, not work so we can rest. Christians are not called to be workaholics. We must enjoy the blessings of God by taking a true break from work to worship.
Rest means we enjoy God. We lean into His goodness and take delight in all that He has done for us. In our fast-paced, loud world, this means we must unplug and just be with Him.
True rest can happen if we walk in the pattern God laid for us.
