"I Thank God Every Time I Remember You"

November 3, 2024 • Daniel Kitchel • Philippians 1:1–11, Acts 16

Paul's letter to the Philippians is warm, affectionate, and kind. It is as if Paul wants to embrace the people with his words. While his words are written freely, he is not. He writes from jail. You feel the weight of Paul's heart in each word penned. He has some final words to say because he knows time is running out.

Remembering others is powerful. Paul begins Philippians by thanking God for his memories of the Philippian church. Who was he specifically referring to, though? There is an incredible backstory of where this church began, and Paul was there for all of it.

This is a fresh reminder that the church is most beautiful when it embraces every part of its diversity and background.
