Here we are five months into 2018. If you’re like 92% of Americans, you’ve given up on your New Years resolution or soon will. According to Forbes, only 8% of us stick with our resolutions long enough to make them permanent. In today’s show, Rob and Steve discuss how to keep on track with your 2018 resolutions. • Most common resolutions according to Forbes are to lose weight and get out of debt • Take a hard look at your resolution. If you really want to achieve it, write it down and place it in plain view so you can be reminded of it and review it. • Make your goal bite-sized so can gradually move into it and you’re not overwhelmed. Can you stay on your budget for a day? Then lengthen the period and, over time, achieving your goal becomes habit. • Admit you sometimes cannot do things by yourself and that God can help you achieve your goal. • Be specific quantifying your goals and use actionable verbs to describe your goals so you know exactly what you’re looking for. • Perhaps make your goals difficult or risky so that once you achieve them, you know you’ve accomplished something and feel comfortable rewarding yourself for that. • Have a deadline to keep you on track and keep you focused. • Be an encourager with others who might be working toward their resolutions and goals for this year.
