Additional Badges, Patches, and Pins Earned at Home

Although our troop completes badges and patches together, girls may earn additional badges, patches, or sports pins on their own, outside of the troop meetings. Parents should follow the instructions in the AHG handbook to ensure the girl has completed all necessary requirements for each badge, patch, or pin. 

When a badge, patch, or pin has been completed at home, parents will need to send a report to the troop secretary and pay an additional fee. Each badge and patch have a cost of $5, and each sports pin has a cost of $6. 

Badges must be reported to the Troop Secretary, Charity Malin, and fees paid at least three weeks prior to the upcoming Court of Awards ceremony. Any badges, patches, or pins completed and/or paid for after this deadline will be awarded at the following Court of Awards ceremony. Additionally, leaders should follow the procedures outlined here, rather than entering additional badges, patches, or pins for their own daughters.

How to submit a report and pay fees:

Send an email to the Troop Secretary, Charity Malin, at charityjmalin@mac.com.

1. Indicate the girl's name, her unit level, and list the badges, patches, and/or pins that have been earned.

2. Photograph the completed pages in the AHG Handbook and include them in the email. Be sure to include all pages for each badge, patch, or pin.
