Baptized in Power

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a significant event that empowers believers for service and witness. Jesus highlighted its importance in Acts 1:8, promising that His followers would receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them. This empowerment is not for personal glory but for effective ministry and evangelism. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers, as Peter clarified in Acts 2:39, making it a promise for all generations. Jesus is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit, as stated by John the Baptist in Matthew 3:11. The Book of Acts provides several examples of this baptism, including the Day of Pentecost and the experiences of the Samaritans, Saul, Cornelius, and the Ephesians. Common elements include the laying on of hands, speaking in tongues, and prophecy, all aimed at empowering believers for service. This baptism is not a one-time event or a mark of superiority but a divine gift for effective ministry. Believers are encouraged to seek this baptism with pure motives, be open to the Holy Spirit's timing, and be ready to serve and witness for Jesus.
