"Saved through Water" This Fourth Wednesday in Lent our journey exploring the Salvation Story of Exodus continues. This evening, God's people find themselves at the Red Sea and God saves them through the water, while at the same time destroying their enemies. This same thing happens to us today in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism.

TYPE AND SHADOW HAVE THEIR ENDING. By the sacrifice of the Passover lamb, God set captive Israel free from death and judgment. Sound familiar? God works salvation for His people today by the same means. Through this passage in Exodus, God teaches us that the sacrifice of Jesus, the Lamb of God, is the only thing able to save us from condemnation.
