The topic of Jesus’ parable, and the topic of this message, is greed.

Jesus issued a warning about greed, which applies to not just the man with the question, but for us too: “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed.” There are consequences to a greedy attitude.

Jesus had been dead two days, and his disciples were grief-stricken and fearful for their own lives. Early in the morning of the day after Sabbath, two women came to Jesus’ tomb intending to anoint Jesus’ body with spices.
