When Shame Rolls Away
The Israelites have experienced years of set back from slavery in Egypt to wandering in the desert. Before they move on to their next step of the journey, God uses the a physical act to remind them that they the nation of Israel is his children. He uses circumcision to remind them of their commitment and in doing so, he rolls away the shame and reproach of the nation of Israel.
