In today’s message, an 85-year-old man named Caleb steps forward to claim a promise God made to him 45 years ago. God made this promise because Caleb followed God wholeheartedly. We don’t have to be a Bible hero to follow God wholeheartedly. We just learn how to view the world through eyes of faith. We keep on trusting and believing and obeying no matter what happens, and we remember that the God we hold on to is more faithful and powerful than we can understand.

Israel is now in firm control of the central region of the Promised Land, and in today’s message, they subdue the remaining northern and southern regions. Embedded in the larger story are events that expose valuable spiritual truths. Spiritual victories are won when God sets the stage and people respond in faith and obedience.
