Palm Sunday Hand Washing Ceremony

April 2, 2023 • Rev. Linda Taylor

“He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him”

John 13:1–5

This humble act brought Jesus and his disciples together in a deeper way, perhaps, than ever. Certainly, it displays Jesus’ humility, and for the disciples, it must have been an illustration of solidarity and of kindness.

Join us to experience a symbolic version of Jesus’ act, when the Care Team, and those in the congregation who wish to, will take part in a hand-washing ceremony (using disposable washcloths for the sake of hygiene).

This promises to be a powerful service that also features music from the Wing and a Prayer Chorale, and much more.
