Acts The Day of Pentecost The day of Pentecost was the beginning of the church - lev 23:15-22 The church consists of two wave loaves - v17 The bread was lifted up by the priests There is leaven in the bread - v17 The church is made of flour V17 - Two tenths of a bushel of flour were ingredients in making bread This represents a double portion of the Holy Spirit

Mark 8:31-33 Peter rebukes Jesus - means to http://disapprove...to reprimand Jesus was fighting against Satan and not Peter WAYS TO KEEP SATAN UNDER YOUR FEET Know that satan is under your defeat - Colossians 2:13-15 Satan was defeated at the cross 1. We can never be tempted with more than we can handle - 1 Corinthians 10:13 2. The power of temptation coming against us is not greater than the presence of the Holy Spirit within us 3. Prayer keeps us from entering into temptation - Matthew 26:41

ACTS The Day of Pentecost - Acts 2:1 One of the 7 Jewish feasts Verse 16-21 Pentecost was an acknowledgement of the provision and faithfulness of the Lord Pentecost was a celebration of the harvest - v22a Prayer that creates an open heaven - Mark 2:1-4 For there to be a spiritual harvest We must understand the priority of evangelism We need people to bring the unreached to Jesus

Mark 8 1. Peter confesses Jesus as the Christ - vs27-30 2. Jesus predicts His death and resurrection v31 - MUST - means it is necessary It was necessary for Jesus to suffer on the cross - the pain of the cross Jesus went through painful times - Luke 4:16-21, 28-30 - rejection We will go through painful times as believers 1. The Lord created everyone with the power to choose A free will does not have to give in to the pressure from the enemy or people 1 Corinthians 10:13 A free will chooses God's direction from the Word of God and the voice of God 2. Everyone is responsible for their own choices

Psalm 2 vs 5-6 v5 - You prepare a table before me This speaks of the blessings of the Lord The Lord desires to bless us Blessings: 1. The source of all blessings is the lord - Dt 8:1-20 James 1:17 Don't focus on the blessings, but focus on the One who gives the blessings Every blessing comes from the Lord 2. The Lord wants to bless you abundantly - v5b The Lord wants you to have abundance James 1:5 John 10:10 Ephesians 3:20 The Lord blesses you to be a blessing 3. The blessings of the Lord are a testimony of the goodness of the Lord

Mark 8 The Blind Man Is Healed v22 - Jesus was involved in conflict When conflict arises, what should we do? Keep moving forward Keep on grinding Keep fellowshipping Who is Jesus? We must know this to be saved. To go to heaven. To stand against false doctrine. We must contend for the faith as seen in Jude 3

Psalm 23 v4 - This verse refers to all of the difficult times in life - Adversity Adversity - means difficult and unfavorable times...a series of misfortunes Everyone will experience adversity no one is exempt An idealistic view of Christianity vs a realistic view of Christianity the closer we get to Jesus, the more adversity we will experience

Mark 8 vs13-16 - Jesus is teaching a spiritual principle about leaven (v15) The leaven of the Pharisees and Herod This refers to false doctrine and teaching Be on the alert - warning - Jesus warned us many times about false doctrine . The times we are living in - 1 Chronicles 12:32 We are in the last days Jesus is visiting earth now and pouring out His Spirit We have one last shot to reach the unreached How can we reach the unreached? Cry out to the Lord - 2 Cor 4:3-4 Be obedient - Matt 28:18-20 Enlarge your compassion - Matt 9:35-37

Psalm 23 v3 - The Lord restores my soul (1) It speaks of mending, repairing and stitching together This verse refers to a sheep (believer) falling no matter what the reason is The Lord is present to help and repair the believer A Cast Sheep - they fall over and cannot get back up for various reasons They will die if they are not helped quickly We need to restore the cast sheep as Jesus restores the cast sheep - Gal 6:1-3 (2) It speaks of making something new The Lord can make all things new..... He leads me in the paths of righteousness The lord's path and tracks are righteous The closer we get to the Lord the more adversity will occur Make a decision today to go to higher ground
