Acts

The church at Antioch Acts 11:19-26
The first ten chapters of Acts refers to the church at Jerusalem.
It was a good church, but missed the heart of God which is the Great Commission
Factor #1: The church at Antioch was an outward focused church
Factor #2 - There was a radical identification with Jesus Christ - Acts 11:26b
Four transfer principles to remember
#1 - A transfer from one kingdom to another - Colossians 1:13-14
#2 -A transfer of God's Word into our lives - Matthew 28:18-20
#4 - A transfer of ownership from us to Him - Matthew 24:24-26
Two mentalities we must all break
1. The Come To Me Mentality-people will just automatically come to church
2. The Lord Will Do It Mentality
60% of our culture will not come to any church

Marah To Elim

Marah to Elim Exodus 15:23 Israel had just witnessed great miracles 10 plagues upon Egypt Israel was led by Moses out of Egypt Israel had just passed through the Red Sea The next two stops in Israel’s 40 year journey to the promise land were Mara and Elim. Mara was a place where they found bitter water and Elim was an oasis The problem no water in the desert 15:23 Now when they came to Marah they could not drink the waters of Marah for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah = bitter could have been brackish Don’t get bitter in life Disappointment: things don’t always work out they way we think they should The Solution 15:25 So he cried out to the Lord and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters the waters were made sweet Cry Out to Jesus Invite Jesus into the middle of your bitterness
