Jesus explains that only through Him will His sheep be saved. He offers salvation and protection for us. He also states there is an over-abundance of grace through Him to share with all mankind, if only they come to Him. As in the reading, He knows His sheep and they trust Him.

Jesus' seven statements included an important one about bread, not just in multiplying it, but that He IS IT. He IS the Bread with which we need no other.
