Before Jesus was baptized by John, John had some pretty amazing words to share with the people around him. They were expecting a messiah, and indeed, Jesus had come, but some people thought John himself was their messiah. John wanted them to know that he was baptizing them, but Jesus would be along later and He would baptize them in the Holy Spirit.
