Abraham had been through quite a bit. Finding out he and his wife could not have children. Fathering a child with a handmaiden. Then finding out that God would indeed give him a son, named Isaac. I don’t know how you would describe your relationship with God, but God and Abraham were friends. That’s what I call a worthy goal!
