As we study chapter seven of Exodus we observe an individual who refused to submit to God, in spite of the great consequences. In Christian circles, we refer to this as a hard heart, and certainly Pharaoh had one. As we look at this stubborn man from long ago, we’d do well to see if there is any resemblance to our very own heart.

In Exodus chapter thirteen we see a great example of God’s protective nature for His people. It is the same protective love you and I can experience today. We may not need deliverance from slavery in a physical sense, but we certainly need deliverance from the slavery of sin.
