Jesus Stands the Test
January 24, 2010 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Mark 12:13–44
Who's the smartest person who ever lived? I Googled that question, and the results ranged from Leonardo DaVinci to Prince Charles! Actually, it's an easy question to answer, because there is only one answer: Jesus Christ is the smartest person who ever walked this earth. He is God, after all! Today on Bridging the Gap, we'll wrap up pastor Lloyd's message in Mark twelve, where some know-it-all Pharisees are quizzing the Lord on various topics. Want to hazard a guess as to who ended up looking foolish?

Watch and Be Ready - Part 2

As I am sure you know, today is election day here in the United States, so we don't have to have to suffer through those endless political ads anymore.... until the next election. Have you noticed how many politicians seem to have trouble with factuality these days? I mention this because it's important that we as Christians always have the facts of God's word available for sharing. How well do you know your Bible? Are you prepared to share at any time?
Love's Extravagance
February 14, 2010 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Mark 14:1–11
Almost every Christian acknowledges that we are living in the last days. The Lord is going to return soon for His church. In Mark thirteen, Jesus spoke of some of the signs to look for as we await His glorious return. As we move along in today's study, I think you'll be surprised at just how many of the things Jesus spoke about are taking place!
The Table of Grace
February 21, 2010 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Mark 14:12–31
Today we'll once again be studying in Mark's gospel, chapter fourteen. As the saying goes, we're getting down to the nitty gritty, as the plot to arrest and kill Jesus is being hatched. The really wonderful truth to remember as we study these verses, is that Jesus was and is God - and He could have put an end to these events at any time. But He chose to go to the cross willingly, to save us from our sins.
Prayer in the Garden
March 7, 2010 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Mark 14:32–42
Today we'll bring you more of pastor Lloyd's series in the Gospel of Mark, titled "Jesus The Humble Servant". Mark is the shortest of the four gospel accounts of Jesus Christ's earthly life, but it contains some very moving accounts of His ministry. One of those accounts is in chapter fourteen, verses thirty two through forty two, where we see the Lord in the Garden of Gethsemene.
Betrayed, Arrested & Tried
March 14, 2010 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Mark 14:43–72
Today Pastor Lloyd resumes his verse by verse series through the gospel of Mark. We've reached a crucial section here in chapter fourteen, verses forty three through seventy two. Jesus has been arrested and now stands before the high priest. What irony we see here - Jesus, the only guiltless person in the room, stands accused of blasphemy. How did He respond to the charges?
What Shall I Do with Jesus?
March 21, 2010 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Mark 15:1–21
When Jesus appeared, under arrest before Pilate, who was really on trial? The answer may surprise you. Our study in Mark's gospel continues today in chapter fifteen. We're all familiar with the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Today we'll consider the hearing before Pilate from a slightly different perspective. Who actually was on trial here?
Jesus Christ Crucified
March 28, 2010 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Mark 15:22–47
If you were headed for a cliff in your car, and had plenty of time to hit the brakes and stop safely, you'd do it wouldn't you? Self preservation is a strong instinct for humans and all other creatures. Why then did Jesus Christ allow himself to be crucified in a horribly painful way, when He could easily have stopped it? Because He loves you and I so much!
He is Risen!
April 4, 2010 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Mark 16
The Gospel of Mark offers a unique and life-changing perspective on the life of the Lord Jesus Christ. In it we get a journalistic, concise presentation of His work on earth, with an emphasis on His humility and servanthood. In Mark, Jesus teaches His disciples that "whoever desires to be great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many" (Mark 10:43b-45). Join Pastor Lloyd for this in-depth, verse-by-verse exploration of the Gospel of Mark, and learn how you too can follow Christ's example of servant-heartedness! This third volume of Pastor Lloyd's series in Mark explores Mark 12:13 - Mark 16.
