God of the Open Heart

June 7, 2020 • Brad Lambert

Often we think God is to be blamed if we sense his resistance in our lives, as if He was limiting us or not allowing us to reach our true potential. In this passage God asks us to see it a different way. He asks us to believe that it is our affections for worldly things that truly limit us, not Him. As we receive this truth by faith we will come to clearly perceive God not as one who limits us, but as one whose heart is wide open toward us, wanting His best for us and being uniquely qualified to teach us what that "best" really is.

Psalm 150

God has such incredible promises in store in the relationship that he has established with us. He has promised to be to us a Father and us to him sons and daughters! May we not miss experience of this relationship by trying to keep one foot in the world.

The Commendation of Ministry

May 24, 2020 • Brad Lambert

In the passage we are studying today we discover the Lord's perspective concerning what a minister ought to be commended by. Do you ever say, "man that guy is a good pastor?" What exactly are you thinking of when you say that? Are you considering his personality, his humor, his intelligence or his speaking ability, or honor given by the world around? Or are you considering his kindness, patience, tribulation, needs and sincere love? May we align our evaluation with the Lord's as we listen to this message.
