Trust in The Lord - SUN PM
Stay the Course, Stick to the Path • May 3, 2020 • Bro. Lynn Schuyler
Proverbs 3:5, 6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. If we will but… * TRUST the LORD with ALL your heart ( He’s taken care of our eternal life. Surely we can trust Him with THIS life! He is in total control, and we are His children that He loved enough to sacrifice His own Son.) * and not LEAN into your own understanding (Our hearts are desperately wicked and our pride is without measure), * and in all WAYS (everything you do) acknowledge HIM! (Follow God’s lead!), Then… * He will direct us! As in the 40-year wilderness sojourn, He is our trailblazer! He will make our paths spiritually prosperous, an abundant life (His definition, not ours!).

Dealing With Life’s Trials • April 12, 2020 • Bro. Lynn Schuyler
**James 1:2-4** *My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.* **1Peter 1:6-7** *Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ…* **Hebrews 12:1-2** *Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.* **Romans 8:28** *And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.* 1. Trials are a part of life… for everyone; we should expect them - James uses the word “when”… “when ye fall into divers temptations…” 2. We need to understand that God is in control; He is sovereign! Nothing can touch a child of God without His permission. Job didn’t suffer because he was a sinner, but rather because He was holy. God doesn’t always cause the trials we endure, but God always uses them for our good and His glory! 3. God uses tests and trials to produce “patience”, i.e., endurance, to the end that we will be “perfect and entire”, i.e., complete! 4. We must trust God’s plan. We must not rebel, but rather LET God use this test to bring about His purposes. God doesn’t use trials to break us, but rather to make us!
The Recipe for Peace
God's Steps to Conquer Anxiety • March 8, 2020 • Bro. Lynn Schuyler
When we worry, we... * burn our “engine” unnecessarily * waste our time Paul’s recipe for peace * Be careful for nothing - Quit being anxious; we must allow God be as big as He is! * Pray about it - Make specific, slow-down-your-life requests (Supplications), with a thankful attitude/mind (Thanksgiving). Part of our prayers should be praise! * Let it rise! - Don’t suppress our cares, but release them to God! Otherwise, our cares can erupt forth dangerously, and cause damage. God has got this!
God Answered the Prayer of a Man
Don't Give Up on Prayer • January 5, 2020 • Bro. Lynn Schuyler
* God fights for His people! - Psychological Warfare He discomfited the 5 kings of the Amorites - Meteorological Warfare - great hail - Astronomical Warfare - sun and moon stay for about a whole day * God listened to the prayer of a man! - Don’t play it safe; Pray it safe! - We need to be confident enough to pray bold prayers * God always filters our prayers, and then he furthers our prayers - when we pray we move the heart and hand of God!
How to Leave the World a Better Place Than You Found It

Paul had... • the Right Perspective (he was a debtor to Christ, paying it forward!) • the Right Preparation (ready to PREACH, anywhere, to anyone, even at Rome!) • the Right Persistence (he never lost the wonder of it all, and so he lived unashamed!)
