Multiplied Grace

2nd Peter 1:1-4

October 7, 2018 • Pastor Mark Mincy

1. δωρέομαι dōréomai, do-reh'-om-ahee;
To bestow gratuitously. To give.
2. χάρις cháris, khar'-ece;
Graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal,
figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and
its reflection in the life; including gratitude); acceptable, benefit, favor, gift,
grace, gracious, joy, liberality, pleasure, thanks, thankworthy.

His divine power has GRANTED to us:
- All things that pertain to life and Godliness,
- Through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and
excellence,
- By which He has GRANTED to us His precious and very great
promises,
- So that through them you may become partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world
because of sinful desire.

Divine Grace and Human Helplessness
- Apart from God's grace, we are helpless in the most mundane earthly
matters (Mark 4:26-28; Mark 6:34, 41).
- Apart from God's grace, we are helpless on the battlefield of spiritual
warfare (Mark 5:3-5).
- Apart from God's grace, we are helpless in dealing with sickness and
disease (Mark 5:25-27).
- Apart from God's grace, we are helpless to meet the spiritual needs of
others (Mark 9:20-27).

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.
