Austin Bates is a sophomore theology major at Southern Adventist University. He has a passion for music ministry in the Adventist church and is chasing God’s call to be a youth pastor in an urban setting. As the student director for Engage Ministries, Austin is constantly seeking out new opportunities to expand his ministerial reach.
Originally from Maryland, Christina Khabbaz spent her adolescent years living abroad in the Middle East, South Asia, and the Caribbean. She and her husband Joseph have been married for more than seven years and have been actively involved in young adult ministry in Brisbane Australia, Takoma Park Maryland and now in Collegedale, Tennessee at Southern Adventist University, where her husband Joseph serves as the Vice President for Spiritual Life and Chaplain. Having graduated from Southern in 2007, Christina is excited to be back on campus during this stage of life and hopes to mirror a Christ—like lifestyle of ministry and discipleship to young adults in her community.
