The coming of the Lord has never been more attractive especially with all that is going on in the world. The time to welcome him is now and not when he returns for then it will be too late. "Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2)

Have you ever done a home remodeling project? It requires more than just a trip to Home Depot. You have to develop a plan, expend resources, gather materials, and then expend the effort. The same is true of remodeling our lives for Christ. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind." (Romans 12:2)

December 24, 2023 • Dr. Ken Lang • Luke 2:1–11

We all live busy lives with so many commitments such as work, family, activities, etc. It's hard to find time to just unplug from our devices and spend time with Christ. Let's make room for the Savior in our hearts so that we might experience his glory (Luke 2:14)

What great thing has God done for you?? | 11-26-23 | Psalm 126

November 26, 2023 • Dr. Ken Lang • Psalm 126

Each year, we set aside one day to be especially thankful - is that enough? That’s only 0.3% of the year to be especially thankful. I submit that if we thought about it and what we have, we could be thankful for the other 99.7% of the year too. Paul said, “Give thanks in everything” (1 Thess. 5:18)

October 29, 2023 • Dr. Ken Lang, David V.

Christ said to go into all the world and make disciples teaching them to obey him (Matthew 28:18-20). We all have that opportunity whether it's going to Colombia, or maybe walking across the street, or just being kind to a stranger at the store. Let's proclaim God's goodness today in thought, word, and deed.

Calvary Syracuse | 6-18-23 | 2 Samuel 13-30

June 18, 2023 • Dr. Anil George • 2 Samuel 13:30

When it Comes to our relationship with God, we wish we could all say “like Father like son/daughter.” Unfortunately, many times we do exactly the opposite of what God wants us to do. Yet He continues to love us and pursue us even in our desolate condition. May our prayer this Father’s day be that He makes us more like Him and less like ourselves.

April 9, 2023 • Dr. Ken Lang • Luke 24:36–49

There's a lot of bad news in our world. It's unavoidable. It confronts us every time we turn around.  But the best news the world has ever had came from a cemetery near Jerusalem—the tomb was empty!

What are you waiting for from God? | 4-2-23 | Zechariah 9:9

April 2, 2023 • Dr. Ken Lang • Zechariah 9:9

"Wait on the Lord" is a constant refrain in the Psalms, and it is a necessary word, for God often keeps us waiting. He is not in such a hurry as we are, and it is not his way to give more light on the future than we need for action in the present, or to guide us more than one step at a time. When in doubt, do nothing, but continue to wait on God. When action is needed, light will come." J.I. Packer

I'm sure if you're like me, the New Year has prompted you to make some resolutions - some desires to make some changes in your life. Paul said, "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day." (2 Cor 4:16) Even though things are falling apart we can be renewed. The choice is ours. - Pastor Ken

“ Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Saviour, which is called Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manager.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.

Many people don’t receive what they want from God either because they do not ask or they ask with the wrong motives. The Kingdom of God and the needs of others don’t factor into the equation. A helpful question to pose when we pray about something for ourselves is this: How will God’s program be advanced through the granting of my request? - Tony Evan
