The old hymn says, "What have I to dread, what have I to fear? Leaning on the Everlasting Arms." But yet we have dread and worry! Charles Schultz said, "I have a new philosophy. I'm only going to dread one day at a time." Sounds a lot like Jesus in Matthew 6:34. So let's do that!

Likewise, the devil will let a preacher prepare a sermon if it will keep him from preparing himself."  What's best? Praying or doing? Preparing a sermon or preparing a heart? Let's put first things first and the rest will take care of themselves.

I’m not a big fan of preseason football. The teams are trying out new players, the games don't mean much, and I want to see the starters. We don't like the 2nd best - we want the 1st choice - Christ is not the 2nd team; as christians, we honor him as he said, "that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him." John 5:23
