The watchman would warn the people in time of danger. Israel’s leaders were to go beyond that and shepherd them at all times. They were to feed, lead and protect them. Here rebuked for selfish exploitation, they have left God’s people to be scattered among the nations. Note the “I will” statements as the Lord promises to bring them back to their land with “showers of blessing.” This is the heart of our God being revealed in Ezekiel. David understood this when he wrote, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

Welcome to CC Golden Springs! Ezekiel had some of the greatest visions of glory in all the Word of God. His ministry opens with a heavenly vision of God and closes with an earthly vision of God. The previous section focused on the temple in the Millennium. Now the final promises to Israel are fulfilled as in that “district” all the government and worship of Christ will be centered. In the great words of J. Hudson Taylor, “There is a living God. He has spoken in the Bible. He means what he says and will do all he has promised.”
