"The Breaker" - Micah 1-2
I have to confess that, while we will still be looking at the minor prophets, I have switched "M's" on you. Huh? I had planned on the Book of Malachi, but have been oddly steered to the prophet Micah!
There are only seven chapters, the first three of which we should be able to move through tonight.
Micah, along with Isaiah, were serving God as Assyria was threatening a conquest of Israel. He hits hard, pointing the finger at the political and religious abuse of power.
But Micah will challenge his audience to also look past the current events to see "the rest of the story". That's good wisdom for our day.
But what about this "breaker" thing? What, or who, is a breaker and what does that have to do with Micah? Better yet, what does that have to do with us?
I can only promise that you might see something tonight that you have missed before, because you have neglected the Book of Micah!
If you need some hope, and I think we all do, then....
....Come and See....
