In Acts 21, Paul faces somewhat of a new challenge: While being fully convinced that the Spirit of the Lord is leading him into trials, Paul receives equally compelling warnings to avoid the trials from his brothers and sisters in Christ. By the end of the chapter, Paul is under arrest and in grave danger. From this chapter, we observe the complexities of following the Spirit and having fellowship with other Christians. By way of summary, we learn that God’s people will not always agree on the mind of God, but we can joyously pursue the will of God for His glory.

In chapter 25, Paul continues to face threats and false accusations; and once again, he must defend himself before the Roman and Jewish authorities. Interestingly, God is not named in this chapter, though His sovereign wisdom is clearly on display. In this chapter of Paul’s trials, we learn that God’s wisdom is shown even when His name is not known.
