Division because of celebrity culture, lack of wisdom because of following culture, and worldly dangers - sound familiar? It was to the church in Corinth too, and Paul addresses these things with the truth of the gospel to point them back to Jesus.
We tend to think of "worldly" as the Las Vegas lifestyle - sexual sin, drugs, etc. But Paul doesn't start with that. He knew that our cause for Christ can grow to a religious zeal that causes arrogance, fighting, and division.
