S3E3 - Foundations of Faith

October 6, 2021 • Curt Harlow, Jason Caine • 1 Corinthians 3:1–15

Division because of celebrity culture, lack of wisdom because of following culture, and worldly dangers - sound familiar? It was to the church in Corinth too, and Paul addresses these things with the truth of the gospel to point them back to Jesus.

We tend to think of "worldly" as the Las Vegas lifestyle - sexual sin, drugs, etc. But Paul doesn't start with that. He knew that our cause for Christ can grow to a religious zeal that causes arrogance, fighting, and division. In this episode, they tackle how to handle arguments wisely and understanding what sanctification is.

How do we do things that benefit the whole church? We are called to eagerly desire spiritual gifts - to strengthen, encourage, and comfort our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let’s lean into the awkward conversation about these gifts here to talk about what the text actually says and how we can live in light of this truth.
