Most of the time, when tragedy strikes, we are looking for someone to bring comfort to our heart and answers that will ease our confusion. Why did this happen? Who will be held responsible? Questions like this flood us and threaten to overwhelm. In today's teaching, Jesus surprisingly responds to a moment of tragedy with no answers about the past or comfort for the future - he takes his audience to the school of tragedy and teaches a hard-hitting truth about death and repentance.
