Every life has its share of pain. We may suffer in different ways or degrees, but we all face the certainty of hardships. Since Hebrews declares the supremacy of Jesus Christ, it's natural to ask, "Why do we suffer when Jesus is in control?" Today, Dr. John leads us through Hebrews 2:5-9 which points to our ultimate destiny in Christ. It gives more than an answer to our question. It offers us hope.

Unbelief and Hardened Hearts

Every day, you are warned about something. Yellow lines, highway signs, workplace notices, weather forecasts. In fact, we receive so many, we can become numb to them. Dr. John points us to Hebrews 3:7-12 as God's warning that must not be ignored. The matters of eternity are too vital to disregard. In this 5-week series, Dr. John preaches from Hebrews 2 and 3 which point to the supremacy of Jesus Christ. While each believer will readily confess the infinite worth of our Lord, Dr. John reminds us that His worth becomes our salvation, confidence, hope and joy. The preeminence of Jesus is not simply a doctrine to remember, but a truth to embrace.

Jesus Greater Than Our Heroes

We often put Superstars and Heroes in the same category; but superstars and heroes are different. Superstars are attracted to fame and a following. Heroes strive to do what is right by faithfulness and sacrifice. From Hebrews 3:1-6, Dr. John presents Jesus as the ultimate hero of history and humanity. He is worthy of all worship.

Jesus Made Fully Human For Us

Everyone needs help. No one can get through this life without leaning upon parents, teachers, doctors, friends, government or institutions. Of course, all these aids help us live. There is no one that can rescue us from death - except Jesus. Today Dr. John points to Jesus our Saviour who delivers us from the fears and pains of death - by dying for us.
