Traditions can be a beautiful thing, especially if they lead to intimacy with God and others. Yet, Jesus showed the hypocrisy of the religious leaders devotion to rules over closeness with God and love for people. As we conclude the Gospel of Mark, we are taken to a place where we see the apex of humanity. The resurrected Jesus, who is the “firstfruits of the dead”, meaning we get to see OUR future. A future of love and hope, where sickness, disease and death is no more. So, if this is true, what does mean for our present life today?
