Jesus could not be boxed in by the political systems of his time. In many ways, he was too progressive for conservatives, and too conservative for progressives. In Mark 12, The Herodians tried to entrap Jesus with a leading question that would make Him either unfaithful to God or an insurgent traitor to Caesar's reign. Jesus' answer broke through these options and gave attention to what mattered most: His Kingdom come and how He, it's King reigns with love, grace, and truth.
