This lesson provides some definitions, an example of apologetics, a brief word about reason and faith and, finally, some reasons why we should practice apologetics and some “rules” for apologetics.
Lesson 2
June 9, 2024
This session explores some philosophical arguments for the existence of God, and how we might use these as a bridge to connect doubting friends and family to Christ and his Word, whereby the Spirit works saving faith in hearts.
Lesson 3
June 16, 2024
Has anyone ever rejected your confession of Christ by saying, "None of that ever really happened! The Bible is all made up anyway!" Our Sunday morning apologetics series continues by investigating the objective historical evidence for the historicity of Scripture.
Lesson 4
June 23, 2024
How can we know that the Bible is a reliable source of information about Jesus? In part the answer to that question depends on two others: 1.) Did the Bible authors know and claim that they were writing Spirit-inspired Scripture, and 2.) Are the information and details they include consistent with outside/verifiable evidence? Join us as Dr. Berg leads us in answering these questions.
Lesson 5
June 30, 2024
We have been taught that science and Scripture are fundamentally opposed to each other, but this is not true factually or historically. This episode we will look at some of the assumptions and limitations of science as it relates to the Bible and how Christians can use science to investigate and understand our world to the glory of God.
Lesson 6
July 7, 2024
Is there a connection between beauty and morality? Are these objective or purely subjective? What about the problems of evil and human suffering? We will explore some possible connections to Scripture and use the example of Job and his loss and suffering to ponder how God makes even evil achieve his good purposes for his children.
