They are surprised, amazed even, at the grace, mercy, and feasting they find instead of the wrath they were sure would meet them. How do we approach the throne of grace? In uncertainty or with confidence?

The Famine, Without and Within

As the famine descends up on the land, Jacob sends his sons to Egypt to obtain grain. When they reach their destination, their lives and hearts are confronted, revealing hearts still racked with guilt and shame. The famine without presses in and reveals their famine within. When life does the same to us, will we turn to the one who truly satisfies?
