The great battle

Episode 394 • Angus Buchan

Angus says that we are engaged in the greatest battle that there ever was. It is the battle between good and evil, between faith and unbelief. Some people will tell you that there is more than one God and there are many ways to get to heaven but the Bible, which is the unchanging word of God, tells us in 1 John 5:7 that there is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and these three are one. The Holy Trinity. As truly born again believers, that’s what we believe and that’s why we are saved and on our way to heaven. God bless you as you listen to this message.

Faith through Grace

Episode 393 • Angus Buchan

Angus reminds us that we have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. God’s Grace is undeserved loving-kindness and unmerited favor. We cannot impress God by our good works and there is nothing we can do to earn salvation. It is God’s free gift to us but it doesn’t stop there. We need to share the Good News of the Love of Jesus. Tell people what God has done for you! Have a blessed day today!

Judge not

Episode 392 • Angus Buchan

John 8:3-11 is todays reading and Angus tells us that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. We have all sinned and have no right to judge others. First, remove the log from your own eye before you try to remove the splinter from your neighbors’ eye. So often those who criticize or judge what others are doing are guilty of far worse behavior. Repent of your sins, say sorry and move on with your own life. Let God be the judge!

Episode 391 • Angus Buchan

Reading from Galatians 5:1-6, Angus reminds us that Christ has made us free! When our focus is on Jesus we have liberty in spite of all worldly cares and events around us. When we are saved we walk in faith. We need not be a slave to the law. Faith in God is going to save you, nothing else. Our faith in Jesus Christ gets us to Heaven. You will never earn your way to Heaven. Our works do not get us to Heaven. We have been saved by grace and when you fall in love with Jesus, you don’t want to sin and offend God. If we love God, our actions must not deny Him. Freedom comes from faith in Jesus!

Be ready

Ep 390 • Angus Buchan

Jesus is coming again soon. Angus asks if you are ready for that day. Many people say that when they get older they’ll think about giving their life to Jesus but we are not promised tomorrow so don’t put off accepting Christ into your life for another moment. As Christians we must share the gospel with the lost at every opportunity, that means today. Have a blessed day!

Episode 389 • Angus Buchan

Angus says that Romans 12 teaches us how to be a real loving Christian. We need to be able to weep with those who are weeping and rejoice with those who are rejoicing. Jesus was full of compassion and people are looking for compassion in these last days.

Episode 388 • Angus Buchan

Angus reminds us that if there was one man in the bible who had a reason to be bitter it was Job. He was a very wealthy and prosperous man and he lost everything but despite that, he refused to give up his belief in God. When you are going through tough and testing times, don’t allow bitterness to creep into your life but rather press into the Lord and He will bless you.

Don't ever give up

Episode 387 • Angus Buchan

Reading from Genesis 32:24 - 28 Angus encourages us that even if it seems like there is no end to a problem or if you have been waiting for an answer from the Lord, don’t give up because you don’t know how close you are to the victory. So if you feel like giving up remember what happened to Jacob who wouldn’t give up until he received the blessing, and keep going.

Good company

Episode 386 • Angus Buchan

In this episode of Grassroots, Angus talks to us about the importance of keeping good company. Whether we like it or not, we are influenced by our friends. If they are always moaning about the country, or the economy or the weather, or whatever, then instead of being hopeful and saying, “ But God” in any situation and acknowledging that He is in control, you will become negative just like them. So stay away from bad company that corrupts and seek out people who have a heart of for Jesus. Put your trust in Him and be blessed as you listen to this message.

Do you believe?

Episode 385 • Angus Buchan

Angus encourages us to start reading our bibles more as this is where faith will grow. Be blessed today as you put your faith and trust in Him. John 9:6-9 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?” Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted, “I am the man.”

Men who walk with God

Episode 384 • Angus Buchan

Romans 1:17 'For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”' Genesis 6:9 "This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God." God is looking for men who walk with God and desire His ways.

Episode 383 • Angus Buchan

Romans 5:3-4 "And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope." Even in the fires of life Jesus is with us. He promises that he will never leave us nor forsake us. No matter how hard life is - Jesus is by our side! Psalm 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all."

The enemy of God

Episode 382 • Angus Buchan

John 14:6 'Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."' Revelation 3:16-17 "So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked."

The love of God

Episode 381 • Angus Buchan

Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." With all of His heart God loves you! He is for you. He is with you.

Episode 380 • Angus Buchan

Patience can be a hard lesson to learn as we read about in the book of Genesis 16:1-5 "Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar. So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai. Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan. So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. Then Sarai said to Abram, “My wrong be upon you! I gave my maid into your embrace; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lord judge between you and me.”
