We need to not only have knowledge of the Bible but we need to know The Author of the Book. Angus talks about Thomas Akampas, a shy, humble monk who lived about 500 years ago. He entered a monastery at the age of 20 and lived a quiet life. On his death at the age of 91, this unassuming man had written, “A rich Inheritance”, which inspired countless people. His ambition was to be more like The Master. We need to guard against being puffed up and we need to be more like The Master. Our opinion is not important. We need to get back to The Bible.

Empty promises

Hebrews 10:23

A promise is an assurance that one will do something. Hebrews 10:23. The Lord never ever breaks His promise. We as Christians should keep our promises no matter what. We need to be people of integrity and honesty. As Christians, we must keep our word. That is why we need to be careful what we say and think before we speak. God will hold us to our promises.

The Great Commission

Mark 16:15, Colossians 1:27, Matthew 25:40

Jesus gave us The Great Commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Mark 16:15. Maybe you feel like you can't do it but yes you can. Colossians 1:27. It's not about you, it's about Christ in you. Start at home, in your own school or workplace. Matthew 25:40. Whatever you do, do it unto the Lord, you just need to start somewhere, just start small.

Totally dependant

Matthew 5:3, John 3:16, John 14:6

Who or what are you depending on today? Matthew 5:3. We cannot depend on anyone else or anything other than God Himself. If we are depending on anyone else then we are putting more pressure on that person than they can handle. We shouldn't be dependant on ourselves either. We need to be emptied of ourselves. John 3:16. We can do absolutely nothing without God. John 14:6.
