To turn the other cheek, as the Bible tells us to is not an easy thing to do but that is exactly what Jesus wants us to do. Paying back evil with evil or retaliating in a like manner when someone treats us badly is dangerous. Romans 12:21 says that we must not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
If you harbour a grudge against someone, you will build up resentment against that person and your spiritual walk will be affected. If you are experiencing a lack of the Holy Spirit's power in your life and are bitter or disillusioned maybe it’s time to take a deep look inside. Deal with any unforgiveness so that you can be made whole again and enjoy the abundant life that Jesus has in store for you.
