Masks vs. Vaccine Debate

There was a recent announcement where Pres. Trump promised a vaccine cure for COVID that would be here soon. He also stated his rejection of masks though he recommends them, but does not wear them.

At nearly the same time, the CDC’s Robert Redfield in Senate testimony where he floated the possibility that “a vaccine might be 70% effective in inducing immunity, but said, "I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against COVID than when I take a COVID vaccine!“ Not wanting to take any of that from Redfield the President retorted, “A vaccine is much more effective than the mask!” What is to be made of this?
