Turkey’s Pres Erdogan (while having not eliminate elections per se) made major strides last year to ensure that his 16 years of rule will continue indefinitely. Recently Vladimir Putin (now in power for 20 years) is on target to cease being President in 2024. Putin is clearly seeking to join the ranks of Emperors for life. How should people think about the actions of Putin?
