Chap. 6, God told fathers to teach our children 5 things. We must lead our children to Faith in the LORD, because He is the only God. We must lead our children to a Fervor for the Lord by loving Him with all their heart, soul, and mind. We must lead our children to Fear the LORD because that’s the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. We must lead our children to a Familiarity of the LORD by learning of Him daily and diligently. And, then when God blesses – as He will, we must lead our children not to Forget the LORD and what He’s done. If we fathers would teach our children these things, our homes would be healed, families restored, and nation united. Transcript: In Ephesians 6:16, the Apostle Paul says that above all, to stand against the Devil’s schemes, we must pick up and use the shield of Faith. This Faith shield is perhaps the most important piece of defensive armor against the fiery darts of the Wicked One because it’s versatile, mobile, and capable of protecting the entire body. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer, President of the American Pastors Network with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Faith is that unswerving Trust in God to do all He says He’ll do. Protection from the fiery darts – those temptations from the Devil, the enticements to the sins of blasphemous thoughts, unbelief, the sudden urging to do wrong or entertain sinful thoughts is what only true Faith can protect against. These fiery darts like speeding arrows come suddenly and from unexpected places. They pierce and penetrate and can set the soul on fire. How’s your faith Shield? Once girded with Truth and a breastplate of righteous living, Eph. 6: 15 says to put on the right shoes – the Gospel Shoes. Stability because the Gospel in its completeness is solid, secure and unchanging. For balance, because the Gospel keeps us focused, hinged on the holiness of God, the sinfulness of man and Redemption through Jesus Christ. For mobility, the Gospel shoes equip us to run the race well. For opportunity, the Gospel shoes make us ready always to give an answer for the Hope within us knowing that wherever God puts us in the Battle is for His purposes. Transcript: Putting on the whole armor of God starts with girding up our loins with Truth. This is not only a commitment to absolute Truth, to God and all He is but a rejecting of situation ethics and moral relativism. Wrapping Truth around our hips and core body must be our vitality and strength for battle. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with the American Pastors Network and another Stand in the Gap Minute. Once committed to Truth. Paul says to put on the breastplate of righteousness. Protecting the heart, the emotions and internal organs with a righteousness breastplate of holy living is essential. A pure heart, godly actions, a life of moral integrity and virtue 24 hours a day is what God expects. It’s a quality known by Him and witnessed by those around.
