It’s often said that many people spend more time planning an earthly vacation than they do their eternal home! Since the signs speak so clearly that we’re in the very last days, shouldn’t we be very serious about eternity? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. In Matthew 25, Jesus told a story about 10 young women preparing for their wedding. Five were prepared – 5 were not. The unprepared missed the wedding and their eternal home in heaven. Jesus used the story to teach us to be watchful since we don’t know the hour of His coming yet we can know the season. If Jesus returned this moment, would you be ready? If not, what should you be doing differently? Don’t wait. The time for change is now. Being watchful, prepared and excitedly anticipating the Return of the Bridegroom for the Church is important. When we serve with endurance, we can anticipate the fulfillment of God’s promise. We have eternal life, community with other believers, and even heavenly rewards. Transcript: Why has God left us in this world as believers? It’s because He has a plan for us, one that can impact all eternity. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. If our only purpose in life was to believe in Jesus, there would be no reason for us to remain after our salvation. So why has Christ yet to return? 1 Peter 3:15 teaches we are to, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have.” Our primary mission in this life is the Great Commission, making disciples of all nations. We are to witness while we wait for Christ’s coming. We cannot give up or back down. Instead, we must be bold in proclaiming His salvation. Transcript: When you faced a big test at school when you were younger, your success depended on preparing for it. As the saying goes, failing to prepare is preparing to fail. How does this apply to our spiritual lives? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Scripture calls us in Matthew 24:42 to “keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” Keeping watch, however, is an active command. We don’t sit around and do nothing. Instead, we are to be about our Father’s business. In a time when many are giving up in despair, believers are challenged to live for the Lord and to share His message of hope with all who will listen. Don’t fail to plan.
