Transcript: The actions we find adorable in a baby are often considered immature for an adult. The same is true spiritually, though we often miss this important difference. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. When an infant crawls on the floor in a diaper, parents and grandparents take videos to share with the world. But the same scene would be considered immature twenty years later. The apostle Paul noted this difference in 1 Corinthians 13:11 when he wrote, “When I was a child…I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.” In today’s churches, too many of our leaders are still living like spiritual infants. To be blunt, it’s shameful. We are called to put away the childish habits of an infant and live with maturity in our relationship with believers, and in how we reach the unbelieving world.
